Christmas Party 2008

Merry Christmas, Peeps (or Happy Holidays for those if you too politically correct)!

The Office Party Season is in full swing, so Lee and Tammy dragged me down to Freeport for his work's official Holiday Party.

I knew that the invitation said "casual" but I could not help but get a little dressed up for the occasion

As they say you can't make an omelet w/o breaking open some egg beaters (what did you think a CHICKEN would say?). To that end, my spiffy Holiday Ensem took a little work. Basically, I saw this bear, wanted what he was wearing and kicked his stuffed bear ass

I would like to tell you that no bears wear harmed in the making of my outfit, but I would be lying!

I was not the only one who had the Christmas spirit, check out Sharon's sweater;

As the night moved along, Lee was too busy eating and talking to notice that I was Chickennapped AGAIN (remember this?)!! If this keeps up, Chicken Protective Services will have to pay him a little visit.

There was a women who was infatuated with me (yes, I know, but this woman was even more crazy for the Chetster) as she actually stole me off the chair as I sat there minding my own business! From what I hear, she collects Chickens and has many @ her home. I was first hidden under her table (don't ask) then moved to a secret location on the other side of the room when she thought I would be found when her table was selected to go up to the buffet.

It took a stealth operation by Linda D. to get me back to the right table (Fab and Lee were doing the theme to Mission Impossible and tabbed the mission 'Operation Hatch Chester' as she came to my rescue).

Here we are celebrating my return

Once back to my table, my name was pulled as the winner of the first door prize! So I went up and picked up my gift!

A nice candle is inside

Once the office party wound down a few people ended up in our room. Although I saw no mistletoe, Jamie swears we were standing under some here:

and we played a round of 31 that cam down to Phil and Fab. Fab pronounced me his adviser before the game started and obviously won because of it (notice me hiding behind the pillows)

More parties to come this year, so I'll keep posting,

Wild Chicken v Wild Turkeys

I have had a run in with Wild Turkeys the other day

No not THAT kind of Wild Turkey!

This kind

Lee took me to SoPo (South Portland for those not in the know) and we met up with these critters!

I noticed they had some food on the ground and I was hungry, so...

I had a quick bite. These birds (named Thelma and Louis) could not keep their eyes off of me (especially Thelma as we all know how I do with the fairer sex).

Actually they were scared of me and I could not resist swooping in for a last bite before we left.

Custodians Rock and Phil & Ellen Roll!

Hello my little Chickadees,

Well last night was another great show by the Custodians @ Mainely Brews in Hooterville, but it proved to be a very special night indeed.

The night started off as usual with me pounding down the brews

Do not let the glass fool you, it was Sam Adams Winter, not Magic Hat

Partying with the locals like George and Sally. (BTW, one of us in this picture has pulled a gun on Chuck Norris, but that's another story). ;)

and schmoozing with the ladies

The party was jammin and the place was rockin!

Then the band invited the Birthday Girl on to the stage. Ellen was then asked a question by each of the band members

When it came to Phil's turn there was something in the air as he spoke of how much she means to him

Phil dropped to one knee and proposed to Ellen

She said yes!

It was congratulations all around!!!

Congrats to Phil an Ellen!
I gotta fly,

My First Fan Mail

Howdy Peeps!

I know I have received many fan emails from many of you, but I just scored my first Fan Snail Mail from some of the Babes out in Madison (if any of you need a reminder of my escapades out there here is a link to the original post)

As you can see, they signed it only "Babes in Madison" (although the postmark is from Indy), so I can only speculate which ones they may be..... ah, yes.... good times .. good times.

Thank you all, you know who you are (even if I can't remember you!).

Rock on Peeps!

PS, I GOTTA party with that Lizard!!!

Halloween Rock n' Roll

Hello Chesterville! Are you ready to ROCK?!?

On Halloween, Lee & I met up with Jody

and we drove down to the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom

a place that has some history

to see Tesla perform the last show of the first leg of their tour supporting their latest release Forever More.

As we sat in the parking lot waiting for the doors to open with a couple of Pumpkinhead Ales, Jode noticed a guy in the corner of the lot near the buses talking on his phone. It looked like Jeff Keith (lead singer). Lee got out of the car to get the camera from the back seat and kind of nodded to him. He promptly finished his call and walked across the parking lot to talk to us. He approached us wearing his Raiders jacket. It was indeed JK.

For some reason I was not introduced to him, so I stayed in the car drinking their beer.

Those two guys were pretty jacked when they got back to the car! Seems like JK is a great guy, loves football and rock n'roll!

Once they got inside (left me in the car again!) they found Pumkinhead on tap and started checking out the guitars

Then someone came out from back stage to talk to them...
Frank Hannon (lead guitar for Tesla)

They guys expressed their appreciation for 2 plus decades of great music and an absoutely GREAT CD in Forever More (available on itunes). He was extremely gracious and cool, thanking them for being loyal fans for so long (dudes are O L D!!).

The opening band was Pop Evil and they put on a good show. Both Lee and Jody said they would probably buy the CD "Lipstick on the Mirror".

Tesla did a lot of the new album and a few of their old songs, too.

The set list was;

'Forever More'
'I Wanna Live'
'Modern Day Cowboy'
'Breakin' Free',
Hang Tough'
'Heaven's Trail (No Way Out)'
'Mama's Fool'
'So What'
'One Day At A Time'
'The Way It Is'
'Fallin' Apart'
'What You Give'
'Love Song'
'Signs'
'Into The Now'
'Little Suzi'
'Comin' Atcha Live'
'In A Hole Again'
'Edison's Medicine'
'Free Bird' (with Pop Evil)

It was Halloween Night, JK came out in a Raider's Costume;

The Grand Finale with Pop Evil and Tesla doing Free Bird was AWESOME!

Found a pretty good review of the show on MySpace

That's it for now,

Rock on Peeps!

I Gotta Find This Guy!!

Hey Peeples!

I just ran across this video and had to share. Beware though it is VERY disturbing to me (although probably hilarious to you)!!

That's about all I can muster right now, I thinkI'll go lay down and have a Pumkinhead or 6 (maybe I'll laydown after I have the beer instead!).

The Big Easy!

Yat!

I made a quick trip down to New Orleans for an overnighter! Lee had to go down for a Geekstock planning committee meeting to check out the facilities etc...

He says it looks like a good spot for the group and should be a good time for everyone involved!

I tried to blog while I was there, but just ran out of time

The tap in the middle of the picture below is for the local brew called Abita (pronounced Ahbeeta). The Amber seemed to be the most popular and for good reason!

For research purposes only I had to give it a try...

That caused the fish rodeo incident

My favorite sign in the hotel was in one of the elevators, if you can't read it, make sure to click on the picture for a better view. Awesome sign!

We went out to dinner at a local restaurant called The Court of Two Sisters.

Good food, but a little rich

Cool gate out front, again click on it to read it if you can't make it out

Anyone know how to play "Drumsticks"?

The observation deck on top of the Hotel Roof near the rooftop saltwater pool. Don't ask what Jay was looking at!

The Hotel is the Omni Royal and is just one street off Bourbon Street.

All I can say is look out for us in March New Orleans and Laissez le Bon temp rouler!
